Former Ghanaian midfielder Derek Boateng organizes a campaign to promote Chris Hughton
Derek Boateng, a former Ghanaian midfielder, has urged people to back Black Stars coach Chris Hughton.
The Ghana FA has named the former manager of Brighton and Nottingham Forest as head coach of the Ghanaian national side on a one and a half-year deal.
Otto Addo, who resigned from his position after Ghana's early elimination from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, was replaced by him.
At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola, Hughton led the squad to victory in his debut game in command.
He oversaw Ghana's 1-1 draw with Angola in the rematch, which took place in Launda. The Black Stars are currently in great shape to qualify for the AFCON tournament that will be held in Cote d'Ivoire next year.
In order for the Irish-Ghanaian coach to be successful throughout his tenure, Derick Boateng has appealed for assistance.
He told Asempa Radio, "Someone like Chris Hughton is half Ghanaian and half British, so we should support him to do the job."
