One of Silicon Valley's most well-known women and YouTube's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Susan Wojcicki, has announced that she is leaving the most widely used video-sharing website in the world.

She plans to begin a new chapter centered on my family, health, and personal endeavors, she writes in a message to the staff. Wojcicki will continue to work with Google and Alphabet in the future, albeit in an advisory capacity.

Since the beginning of Google, Susan Wojcicki has played a crucial role in the organization. In the beginning, Google's headquarters were located in Ms. Wojcicki's garage. She is a close personal friend of Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and after joining the company as one of its first workers, she rose through the ranks and was given charge of YouTube after Google bought the video platform, making it one of the biggest social media companies in the world.

She will be replaced in her duties by YouTube's Chief Product Officer, Neal Mohan. Curiously, Mohan won't be the CEO but the Senior Vice President and Head of YouTube. He oversaw the trust and safety team for the platform and assisted with the launch of YouTube TV, YouTube Music, Premium, and Shorts.

With all we're doing in terms of shorts, streaming, and subscriptions, along with the promises of AI, YouTube's most exciting potential is ahead, and Neal is the best person to lead us, according to Wojcicki.

She played a part in the early Google Doodles and was the first product manager for AdSense, among other prior responsibilities. Years later, she was running the platform as its CEO after encouraging the firm to buy YouTube. Given that it contributed more than 10% of Google and Alphabet's total income last year, YouTube has now established itself as a key component of those companies.
